A phenomenon of scientific journals has been lasting for three and a half centuries already. In the last decades, the number of editions of this kind is increasing exponentially. Ukraine represents no exception in this respect: a total number of our local “Memoirs”, “Bulletins”, etc. has reached thousands. Hence, the appearance of another scientific edition should require justifiable reasons.
“Scientific horizons” is contrived as a wide-section journal where original and review articles concerned with the most urgent topics in both natural sciences and humanities will be published quarterly. English as a language of this edition is aimed at making all of those studies easily accessible by the world-wide scientific community.
The Editorial Board is setting up high standards and so expects, with the lapse of time, to make this journal one of the most authoritarian Ukrainian editions, which would be recognized in the scientific world and included in the most important databases such as ISI and SCOPUS. We believe that the potential of Ukrainian universities and scientific institutions should ensure implementing of these ambitious designs.
 

Феномен наукових журналів існує три з половиною століття. Протягом останніх десятиліть число таких видань зростає за експонентою. Не є винятком і Україна – загальне число наших «Записок» і «Вісників» вимірюється вже тисячами. Отже, поява ще одного наукового видання щонайменше потребує поважних підстав.
«Наукові обрії» замислено як широкопрофільний журнал, у якому щокварталу друкуватимуться оригінальні та оглядові статті з найактуальніших напрямків природничих і гуманітарних наук. Англійська мова видання має на меті зробити ці роботи доступними всій світовій науковій спільноті.
Редакція відразу ставить перед собою високу планку, прагнучи зробити з часом цей журнал  одним з найавторитетніших українських видань, упізнаваним у світі і обов’язково включеним до найважливіших науковометричних баз ISI та SCOPUS. Ми вважаємо, що потенціал учених українських університетів та наукових установ дає всі підстави реалізувати цей амбітний план.
